#InspireConfidence with Bri Jensen4/4/2018 #InspireConfidence with Bri JensenBri Jensen embraces empowerment—not only in her own life but by helping others, as well. A natural campus leader, she truly understands what it means to lead. Leadership is not just a title, but how you use those strengths and abilities to help yourself and others.
Three Definers: Passionate. Leader. Strong. Everyone has a passion that inspires them and gives them the motivation needed to fulfill those passions. My passion runs deep and is incorporated into everything that I do. My passion drives me to do things that are bigger than myself. I would also describe myself as a leader. I lead by empowering others to reach heights they may have never thought possible. Leadership, is not a title of a position. It is what you do to create a path for successes, not just for yourself but for others. I am strong. Strength is a characteristic that can take many forms but for me, it is overcoming adversity and being resilient. It is being loud and strong for others. It is using my platform to advocate for those without a voice. Can you tell us about your personal journey with confidence? Growing up my mom always empowered me. She has always lived as a hard working leader and advocates for those facing adversity. Having a role model in my life, who inspired me and empowered me day in and day out led me to discover that I am strong and should embrace my confidence. Growing up in a home with struggles—whether it was financial obstacles, mental health, or other challenges—put me on a path of insecurity and self-doubt. When I got to college I was able to discover that those things made me who I am. Those adverse situations gave me insight perspectives about the world around me. Looking back I have been able to appreciate all of the sacrifices my mom made to give me the tools to lead me to opportunity and find confidence. Something I hope to do is inspire confidence in others through empowerment. Via my leadership roles and platforms, I want to empower others to have confidence. Confidence can be intimidating. It is something that, as women, we have been told to suppress or not have, but it is something we must find and embrace. It can be hard to discover confidence in yourself, but when you have mentors in your life that are willing to empower you to discover this in yourself, it can become possible. Confidence gives us strength to be authentic. Confidence gives us the courage to aim high. Connect with Bri:
